DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

May 22:

Arrival Day! Upon arrival in Reykjavik, Iceland, you will be transferred to our accommodation in central Reykjavik, where the group will meet. This day is dedicated to all Adventurers arriving and getting some rest before our Icelandic adventures truly begin.

May 23:

Begin the morning with breakfast at the hotel and get ready to kick off this Icelandic adventure by enjoying the famous Blue Lagoon. After spending the morning soaking in the healing waters of this vibrant geothermal spa, we will make our way to a gorgeous tomato greenhouse restaurant for lunch. This family-owned and operated greenhouse takes pride in their freshly grown tomatoes year-round, and we will enjoy their famous soup and bread (included) during this cozy meal. Once back from lunch, the rest of the evening will be free time to enjoy the capital city of Reykjavik. The accommodation will be within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars, and sites.

May 24:

After an early morning breakfast at the hotel, get ready to set out on a full-day tour of the Golden Circle, the most famous scenic route in all of Iceland. Some of the natural and spectacular attractions you can expect to see on this tour are Kerid Crater, Gullfoss, Geysir, and Thingvellir National Park. After a full day immersed in Iceland’s unique and stunning scenery, we will return to the city, where the rest of the evening is free to explore the capital and rest up for more adventures ahead.

May 25:

Fuel up for another day of adventure with an early morning breakfast at the hotel. Have your bags packed up and ready to go because we will be staying further south for the next two nights! After around an hour road trip, prepare to embark on an hour-long hiking trail to a completely natural and hidden hot springs river. After enjoying these wild natural springs (sulfur smells & all!), we will take a slightly shorter hike back to the vehicle to continue our adventures for the day. From there, we will drive deeper south to explore more mind-boggling scenes like Seljandsfoss waterfall, a black sand beach, and the tiny seaside town of Vik—the scenic spot where we will be staying overnight.

May 26:

You guessed it! Begin the day with an early morning breakfast and make sure you are packed up, because we are moving even deeper south for the night. After around a three-hour road trip, we will arrive at Glacier Lagoon for our Glacier Kayak Tour! On this guided tour, we’ll float amongst massive icebergs and, if lucky, spot some wildlife, too. Once kayaking is finished, we’ll admire the beautiful Diamond Beach right next door before heading to a trailhead for a round-trip two-hour scenic walk to Svartifoss Waterfall, taking in the stunning viewpoints along the way. After finishing the trail, we’ll drive to our hotel for the evening and enjoy dinner together at the hotel.

May 27:

After eating breakfast at the hotel, pack up and be ready to hit the road once again! We will be making our way back to the capital city (around a six-hour road trip in total), and throughout the day there will be plenty of scenic stops and activities to break up the drive. Our first stop will be at one of the largest glaciers in the country, where we’ll embark on a private glacier snowmobiling experience! Once the adrenaline rush subsides, we’ll continue moving closer to Reykjavik with a stop at the impressive Fjadrárgljúfur canyon to admire its steep, mossy walls and winding river below. From there, we’ll get back on the road for the final stretch, planning to arrive back in Reykjavik late in the evening.

May 28:

Enjoy an easy-going morning before our last full day of Iceland adventures. This time, we’ll head out on a day-long road trip to the coastal Snaefellsnes Peninsula, about three hours each way. Along this scenic route, we’ll visit sights like Arnarstapi, with its seaside cliffs and dramatic sea arch, as well as the world-famous Kirkjufell waterfall. Midday, we’ll enjoy a fresh and locally sourced lunch at a family farm (meal included, beverages not). After a full day exploring the peninsula, we’ll return to Reykjavik later in the evening for one final night in the capital before departure flights the following day.

May 29:

This is Departure Day! We will say our “See Ya Later’s” and begin the journey back home with memories sure to last a lifetime, with up to three separate airport transfers scheduled based on travelers’ flight times.

MICELLANEOUS POINTS

Please send us the flights you are considering for this adventure prior to purchasing so we can review and confirm all looks good! You must fly into Reykjavik, Iceland.

Weather: Part of the Iceland experience is the unpredictability of weather! May is typically known as one of the better weather months since it’s the beginning of their summer and you can expect temperatures in the mid 40’s to low 60’s! That being said, prepare yourself for whatever mother nature has in store. All excursions are weather dependent.

Midnight Sun Season: As summer approaches, the days are longer and the sun is out for almost 20 hours. There is absolutely no chance of seeing the Northern Lights – this is not the season for that.

Adventure Style Trip: This trip is one of our most adventurous itineraries! The days can be long and the itinerary is road-trip based so expect a handful of multi-hour long road-trips oftentimes with curvy roads. There will be a lot of walking on this trip and a few moderate hikes included on the itinerary.

Travel/Medical Insurance: We highly suggest purchasing travel and travel medical insurance to protect your trip.

Accommodations: Hotel stays will be simple & local. European style rooms are typically smaller than US standard and beds are typically very close together.

Food: Meals (besides breakfast, Fridheimar experience, and family farm lunch) are not included. A meal in a restaurant typically costs around $35–60 USD. To alleviate the cost of restaurant meals, there will be the opportunity to stop at a grocery store & get snacks. We will also make a point to often stop at smaller, grab-and-go places for more affordable eats like the famous Icelandic hot dogs & fish n chips!

WiFi/Data: The accommodations we stay in will have WiFi, however, sometimes Wi-Fi in certain areas can be spotty and unreliable. We always recommend having access to data.

Road-trips/long car rides: As stated, there will be multiple long car rides and roads may be curvy or bumpy at certain points.

Be Kind: There will be absolutely zero tolerance for any unnecessary negativity, unkindness, or disrespecting the country’s culture or requirements.

This trip is for all women 18+ years of age.

If you cannot respectfully abide by what Iceland is asking of you at the time of our trip, you may not attend.

If you have ANY questions regarding any of this information, please ask prior to the release day and before committing to this trip! We are here to answer any questions you may have.
